Zwart Wild is an artist-run platform that brings together different art disciplines, gives space to Ghent's art scene, connects networks and has an strong urge to achieve. Zwart Wild designs, curates, builds, occupies and questions. Zwart Wild was created near the end of 2012: a group of young artists gathers for the first time in a bar in Ghent. What brings them together is a need for affordable studio spaces and the enthusiasm for organizing exhibitions and performances. After a short, intensive search Zwart Wild finds a spot in the former furniture factory Vandenberghe – Pauvers, in the centre of ‘de Brugse Poort’. Besides working in the studios, Zwart Wild opens their 'salon' twice a month for an exhibition and performances. In september of 2014, Zwart Wild moved to a nearby location, a temporary studio named ‘De Binnenweg’, but later on Zwart Wild continues its public activity as a label on different locations. Since July 2015, the workstudios moved to the Lindelei (under supervision of Nucleo) and to a former police office in Zwijnaarde.
