Winchovski is a young belgian quartet playing the music of guitarist Lucien Fraipont. The founding members of the band, Jens Bouttery on drums and Lucien were joined by Gregor Siedl on saxophone and Lennart Heyndels on double bass in 2010. The group has gained its experience and reputation on the Belgian stages (Grand Place de Bruxelles, Music Village, Hopper, Stuk, …) Meanwhile, Winchovski has developped a fresh and personal style and released an autoproduced cd called “Dreams and Cocktails”.
Lucien Fraipont is a very demanded young guitarist and composer in various bands based in Belgium (Rackham, Jelle Van Giel Group, Marjan Van Rompay Quartet, Delvis,…). He won the price of best soloist at the Jazz Cat Rally 2007 and received the “Horlait Dapsens” award 2011.
Jens Bouttery is active in jazzcontexts (Jens Maurits Orchestra, Les Chroniques de l’Inutile, Jef Neve, …) as well as many theatre and dance productions (Wunderbaum, Club Guy & Roni, …). He composed for films as “Misschien Later” (Moon Blaisse) and “Lollo gaat op reis” (Daan Milius). In 2011 he received the Toots Thielemans Award for his audiovisual jazzcreation the Dubtapes.
Lennart Heyndels is a talented young bass player from Belgium. He is an active member in various jazz bands (Elk Town, Winchovski, Tree House, Matiss Cudars Quartet, Sallma’s Moles) as well as pop and rock bands (Wildlife, Hypochristmutreefuzz). Besides he works as a freelance musician with a wide variety of musicians throughout the world. Lennart was awarded the First Prize at the “Prinses Christina Concours” 2010 in Amsterdam,
Gregor Siedl grew up in Austria and is currently very active on the belgian Jazz scene. He is an appreciated sideman performing in a wide variety of projects such as Alegria, Octet Red, Les Chroniques de l inutie, Jens Maurits Orchestra, …
