Tom Hondeghem began his music education at the age of 8 at the SAMW Diksmuide. There he studied saxophone, piano and harmony writing. In 2010, Tom started his higher music studies at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent. There he studied classical saxophone with Raf Minten, Koen Maas & Rik Vaneyghen and composition and orchestral conducting with Dirk Brossé and Wim Belaen.
Tom also passed with flying colors the conducting course with Nico Logghe and Dimitri Bracke at Academy ‘De Kunstbrug’, Gentbrugge. After obtaining the Master's degree in Ghent, Tom continued his studies at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven where he studied HaFaBra conducting and composition with Ivan Meylemans and Jan Van der Roost. He also took numerous master classes with Johan De Meij, Bert Appermont, Kevin Houben, Alain Crepin, Johan Van der Linden, Bart Picqueur, Alexandre Doisy, Bjorn Verschoore, Pieter Pellens, etc.
Today Tom is active as a professional saxophonist, pedagogue, conductor, composer and arranger.
