At the age of six, Stijn started playing the bugle at the Fanfare De Goorse Bloesem in Heist-Goor (Heist op den Berg). He played with the European Youth Brass Band in the European Brass Band Championships in Belfast (2006) and in Birmingham (2007). Since 2008, he has been playing bass tuba.
He is also active in Brass Band Willebroek (Bass-tuba), Brass Band Burgipja (Burcht, conductor) and Brass Band Kapelle-op-den-Bos.Michel-Joseph Steenebruggen (sometimes also: Steenbruggen) was a Belgian composer and conductor.
