Jan Fabre is a visual artist, theatre maker, and author. He was born in Antwerp in 1958. In the late 1970s, he studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and the Municipal Institute for Decorative Arts and Crafts in Antwerp. His first works date from this period.
