Andrea Cinel studied Communication at the Università degli Studi di Trieste (Italy) and Philosophy at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium). He currently works at kunstencentrum nona in Mechelen as curator and coordinator of the Contour Series, also producing films as Jelena Jureša’s Don’t Take It Personally (2025) and the collaborative yours, (2023) by Eva Giolo, Rebecca Jane Arthur, Katja Mater, Sirah Foighel Brutmann & Eitan Efrat, and Maaike Neuville. From 2007 to 2021, he served as curator at argos centre for audiovisual arts in Brussels. Cinel developed film programs and group exhibitions designed to thematically bring together the audiovisual collection of argos. He curated solo exhibitions for artists such as James Benning, Patrick Bernatchez, Jordi Colomer, Pieter Geenen, Andrea Geyer, Maria Iorio & Raphael Cuomo, Ria Pacquée, Nicolas Provost, Lina Selander, Shelly Silver, Mona Vatamanu & Florin Tudor, Angel Vergara, and Roy Villevoye & Jan Dietvorst, among others.
