The Ateliers Mommen are the oldest and last surviving artist village from the 19th century in Brussels. About 130 years ago, the place was designed to cater to the needs of various artists, who could and still can rent (residential) studios at democratic prices. The non-profit organization strives for the continued existence of the artist city as a space for expression for all contemporary art forms, a place for art as an ongoing creative process based on exchanges.
