The gallery was founded in 2004 by Martine Ehmer. Having always been fascinated by art, she decided to devote herself to her passion and opened her own space in Brussels.

Although she has followed a consistent line from the outset, Martine Ehmer chooses not to limit her selection to one medium or trend. The gallery represents artists from a wide range of backgrounds, both emerging and established, working in a variety of media: paintings, photographs, sculptures and videos are all on show.

For over 10 years, the gallery has championed the work of urban artists such as Jef Aérosol, L'Atlas, JonOne, Miss Tic, Kool Koor and Cope2. One of the first Brussels galleries to be fascinated by this movement. It also represents young talents on the contemporary scene such as Clément Verdière, Rose Madone and Jean Christophe Thorez.

Specialising in Contemporary and Urban Art, juggling between abstraction and figuration, Galerie Martine Ehmer's calendar is punctuated every month by group and solo exhibitions. With a view to representing her artists internationally, she also takes part in fairs in Belgium and abroad (Lille, Paris, Madrid, Miami, etc.).

In 2014, Martine Ehmer decided to move to a new location in the heart of Les Marolles, a historic and vibrant central district of Brussels, giving her more space and visibility.
