In 1955, artist and architect René Heyvaert designed a villa in Destelbergen for his brother Gilbert. Soon, it would become one of his most imaginative and appealing creations. Architectural critic Marc Dubois considered it as one of Belgium's most interesting buildings of the 50s. Sixty years later, the hous remains as revolutionary as it is iconic. Consisting of two floors connected by an external staircase, it is made out of glass from bottom to top and offers an exquisite view of the surrounding areas.

The vast landscape, the quiet and silence, just outside of Ghent, make it a unique place to reflect, philosophise and work. All of this makes it an ideal location for a place of residency , open to guests for a duration of three weeks. During their stay, residents are invited to organise public showings in the form of exhibits, debates, talks, moviescreenings, dinners, ... all according to the resident's wishes and time-table.
