P/ROPS wants to create a greater interest for performance art in Belgium, and wants to establish it as a full-fledged artistic medium. In 2015, driven by passion and ambition, Sabine Oosterlynck created a performance art platform in Ghent called P/ROPS (an acronym for performance art, research, open project and space). The platform wants to bring attention to the performative aspects of the visual arts, in a direct (i.e. live) way or through objects, books, text, images, videos and other media; it also wants to unite performance artists, academics and art lovers, in order to promote object related performance art.
