The Letter Piece Company is dancer Shila Anaraki, light designer Tom Bruwier, keyboardist Mark Knoop, guitarist Tom Pauwels, composer Matthew Shlomowitz, recorder player Tomma Wessel. The group was formed in 2008 to perform Matthew's Letter Pieces - short duo performance pieces that combine physical actions, text and sound. In 2010 LPC created a show for the Transit and Huddersfield festivals, performed again at the Chisenhale Dance Space and Soundwaves in 2011. The show featured two new Letter Piece quartets by Matthew and Shila. In 2011 LPC was working on an hour long piece called A to Zzz. The work was premiered in February 2012 at Vooruit (Gent) who was producing the work together with Concertgebouw Brugge. The Letter Piece Company is also supported by the Brussels based artslab PianoFabriek and the Flemish Community.
