HEIMAT was a multidisciplinary design agency, founded by architect Pieter Boons in 2007. It specialised in the development of exhibition concepts, both in terms of content as well as scenography. It payed close attention to context and story, immersing visitors in a allround atmosphere, appealing to emotion. Heimat encompassed a variety of projects, in private residencies as well as museum shops, to scenography and installation art. For each new project, a specific project team was assembled, and on occassion related artists, graphic designers or architectural colleagues were invited to deepen the conversation. Heimat ceased its activities in 2017, in favour of a fulltime commitment as the exhibition curator at Antwerp's Middelheim Museum.
