Foton is a Brussels-based collective experimenting with music, mixed media, installations, research and off-limits partying. Foton started operating as a record label in 1998, focusing on distinct electronic music: minimal soundscapes, abstract ambient and twisted frequencies. Being a key player in the blooming electronic music scene in Brussels, Foton positioned itself where experiment and quality meet.

After three years of label work, Foton mutated into something larger: a mixed media collective, having many facets and modes of output: installations, performances, concerts and workshops. Several disciplines, such as music, video, dance, fine arts and technology, are combined in our productions, enhancing each other in the process. Artists from different fields are regularly brought together to work on collaborative projects, with music as the ever-present underlying theme. Last but not least, we like to party and enjoy a good concert - that's still very much an essential part of what we stand for.
