Emi Kodama is originally from Vancouver and has lived in Ghent since 2008, where she began her postgraduate studies at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts (HISK). She earned a Master's degree (MA) from the Frank Mohr Institute (NL) and a Bachelor's degree (BA) from ArtEZ University of the Arts (NL). Her collection of short stories and drawings, If I Were You, was published in 2012 by MER. Paper Kunsthalle.
Through writing, performance, and installation, Emi combines elements of everyday life with dreams and memories to create stories that people can explore and deepen. She wants to give others the opportunity to spend time in their inner world—to awaken curiosity, ask questions, and discover the power of their own imagination.
