Cimatics festival is a large-scale city-wide international event open for a broad and diverse audience. It embraces today's digital and urban culture with a focus on innovation and user participation.

As a 'festival for art, media, music and people' activities include: exhibitions, conferences, concerts, performances, installations in public space, workshops, party's, jam-sessions, presentations & demonstrations, urban games, professional meetings, interventions in public space, socio-cultural projects,...

The latest edition of Cimatics festival was held at 17 venues throughout Brussels and invited over 150 international artists and creatives. The festival consisted of 28 events wich attracted a combined audience of almost 10.000 people.

About the organization

Cimatics is a Brussels-based international platform for audiovisual and digital art and culture, with structural support from the Flemish authorities as an arts organisation. The main activity of the platform is the annual Cimatics festival. With a focus on audiovisual art and digital culture, Cimatics is unique in Belgium and has built up a strong international reputation in the fields of media art, electronic music, graphic design and audiovisual performance.

Next to the organisation of Cimatics festival, the organization offers production support for audiovisual and digital creations (by artists such as Ryoichi Kurokawa, Boris & Brecht Debackere, Arne Deforce, Yutaka Oya and Visual Kitchen), tourmanagement and bookings, the organization of audiovisual events (concerts, performances,...), workshops and guest-curations of interactive installations and exhibitions.

Cimatics is member of ICAS/ECAS (International Cities of Advanced Sound), the international network of contemporary urban festivals such as Mutek (Montréal), Mutek Mexico, Club Transmediale (Berlin), Todays Art (The Hague) or FutureEverything (Manchester).
