My piece Sofia's inspiration is from a childhood memory. A fascination with a certain Swallow species that are
local to my hometown in the Philippines creates their homes made of mud. As a child raised in the province, it allowed me
to explore the countryside with my bike freely. I witnessed how these tiny creatures living mostly on cliffs slowly build their
nests from the river banks' muds, creating these elongated tunnel-like compartments with several small openings. It never
failed me to be curious about what it is like to be inside these structures?
