The library of the Ghent Conservatory (established in 1835) has a collection of more than 150.000, or 1,3 kilometres, of titles. The collection includes monographs, catalogues, compilations and reference books as well as more than 400 periodicals. The conservatory is also in possession of several thousand records and CDs. Some rare early editions, including Praetorius' Syntagma Musicum dating from 1615 as well as original publications of compositions by C. Ph. E. Bach, Corelli, Couperin, Gluck, Grétry, Haydn, Loeillet, Lully, Mozart, Pleyel, Purcell, Rameau and Viotti can all be found amongst its treasures.
