IN 1999, Hanneke Paauwe published her debut 'Bijten in het toeval' (De Arbeiderspers), a collection of short stories that ended up on the Gouden Uil longlist of that same year. She performed several times during De Nachten and De Nachten on tour, created - amongst other things - a literary peepshow for Het Groot Bedrijf and wrote materials for theatre group Victoria, Laika, Brons, HETPALEIS and Villanella. Since 2001 she has been a regular guest (with various performances) at Bronksfestival, Tweetakt and Driemast. In 2003 she received the 1000-Watt Lichtpuntaward, for her entire body of work.
