Sofie Crabbé (b. 1984, BE) is an art and photo historian specializing in contemporary art and lens-based media, with particular expertise in photography and a deep fascination for collaborations between artists and scientists. She has worked as an author and curator since 2008. She has experience as a professor at KASK & Conservatorium School of Arts (2021-2023) and at LUCA School of Arts (2021-present), where she is also a mentor of master's students. She writes various types of texts on request, such as concepts, artist bios, essays, and criticism for artists, art institutions, publishing houses, galleries, and art magazines.
Some of her recent curatorial projects include Marie Mees - Marc De Blieck at the Carré, Ghent (2024), BAK(K)ER at the Carré, Ghent (2023), Faces of Water at BOZAR, Brussels (2022), DASfest - In a Landscape at the dance studio of les ballets C de la B, Ghent (2021), and le Visible et l'Invisible at Bradwolff Projects, Amsterdam (2020). She is regularly in demand as a speaker, moderator, jury member, guest curator, guide, and reviewer.
