<div>Manoeuvre is a textile studio where artists and diverse communities meet in the exchange of (non-Western) textile techniques and knowledge about related crafts. As a co-creative arts practice and platform for transdisciplinary arts, Manoeuvre facilitates relational participation trajectories of artists with diverse communities. Diverse participants create collective visual work where art, craft and everyday life meet. Manoeuvre BOMA is Manoeuvre's textile making space in the Ham neighborhood of Ghent. It is a semi-public place, which opens its doors and is freely accessible to work together on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
<div>Manoeuvre is a visual platform for artists and diverse communities. There, we create collective visual work where art, craft and everyday life meet. Manoeuvre facilitates development paths for artists in different contexts. Manoeuvre inhabits a makerspace, a studio in the Rabot district where collectives develop from the inside out.&nbsp;<br><br>At our 'maakplek' in the Rabot, we work with manual and slow techniques. A core of committed local residents and makers from diverse backgrounds 'inhabit' the place and co-create there on fixed weekdays. They have extensive textile knowledge, linked to the neighbourhood's historical past. The residents with migrant roots know specific techniques and exchange them with the expertise of the regular artists. Besides textiles, other crafts and forgotten knowledge are used, each time on a human scale. Throughout the process of making together, temporary collectives with artists emerge. We enter into further artistic trajectories with them.</div>
